Pinched Clay Cup
Pinched clay medicine cup woodfired in Anagama for 5 days, reduction cooled. Small and tapered at 3" tall and 2.75" wide. Thoughts of good healing prevailed during the making. No glaze going in to the kiln. It was dipped to the line in a clay slip. The clay slip was also poured on the inside to ensure smoothness and vitrification. The colors are offerings from the kiln. Mostly grays with mottled reds & browns with golden crystals. This cup has a smooth finish and is nice to hold.
Inside a deep brown near the bottom. Clay body turned a rich red-brown in bare places, with the exception of one gray/beige spot where there was a direct ash hit. Its main purpose is for taking daily meds, but to drink anything that makes you feel good is recommended. Be well!
