Begonia Leaf

Large Begonia leaf with golden ash coating. This leaf sat in the front of the kiln just behind and above the firebox. Baked for a full five days then cooled in a hydrogen reduction. These leaves go into the kiln bare except for a stain that was rubbed into the veins. The golden ash has a dark gray sheen in places. Points darkened to a deeper gray and the back side shows the flow of the flames and ash. It can hang on the wall or can be set on a night stand to hold treasures, keys, candle.
legs have corks on the bottom to avoid scratching the surface.
8 inches long by 7 inches wide.
