Round Leaf
A rounded leaf from near the pond. Just a baby leaf, as they mature into 1.5 to 2 feet across. This one measures approximately 5.75 inches. Edges are turned upwards to help hold things.
Fired in an anagama kiln for five days. (120 hours). Starting with Fir for the first 40 hours to develop a good ash bed, then 40 hours with Alder, a plentiful and easily resourced fuel. We finish with 40 hours of Maple, which accounts for most of the colors. This leaf was near the front of the kiln and received a good amount of ash resulting in the golden/green coating on the top surface. The underside shows the flow of flame and ash.
It can be used for a candy dish/food tray or as wall décor. It has six feet that are corked for safely sliding across a table top.
