Woodfired Cup

Small medicine cup with carbon trap and golden crystals.
This cup, put into the kiln without glaze, displays hits of heavy ash, thin ash, and no ash in places, along with some carbon traces picked up during reduction, and colors of red and black with golden/beige crystals. Ash flow left golden crystals on the face, while the back, which received no ash, became a toasty burnt umber.
Fired for five days in a woodfired Japanese-style anagama kiln. Colored by ash and flame and the intense atmosphere inside the kiln. Stoked with wood around the clock for five days.
